What’s this site all about?

This site was created back in 2004, with students of the ALCD in mind, a place to share ideas and news about legal costs with others who have similar interests in the subject.

Costs Monkey is NOT intended to try to sell law costs drafting services – this is not a law costs drafting company. It is also not part of or associated with the Association of Law Costs Draftsmen.

This is NOT a legal subscription service.

The Costs Drafting profession is not formally regulated but many feel there should be some greater control and education of those who work within the field. Currently Members of the Association of Law Costs Draftsmen are obliged to follow a Code of Conduct and must complete a formal training course, assessment and examination to call themselves Associates or Fellows of the Association. This site is particularly aimed at those undertaking that course as Student members of the ALCD but it is hopefully a useful site for practicing costs draftsmen and solicitors. The site is here to share news, links as well as a forum to share views on costs.
